Commonly constructed on the Ionian Islands and the western coasts of mainland Greece.
Unique Features
The deck is remarkably wide throughout its entire length, even extending to the bow.
The bow stem was slightly curved, while the stern post was straight and tilted backward.
The angles between each post and the horizontal plane exceeded 60°.
The middle frame of the Gatzao exhibits a sharper curvature compared to other sharp-bowed vessels. The tangent angles at the middle frame and deck height form more acute angles with the vertical (less than 5° compared to other types in the same category).
All frames are notably curved, creating a broad hull along the entire vessel's length.
