Unique FeaturesThe most distinctive characteristic of its hull is the curved shape of the bow stem, which has evolved over time. The stern post, in its modern form, is straight and tilts backward, whereas earlier versions were slightly curved. The middle frame has less acute curvature compared to other traditional boats, enhancing stability and ease of use. The angle between the tangent of the midship frame at the height of the deck and the vertical axis varies: a)From 15° for commercial use b)To 30° for fishing use. The word "Trehantiri" may derive from the Byzantine term trochantira, referring to the stern post.  Some Trehantiria in Spetses featured an elevated deck at the stern to maximise covered storage space.
