Construction with the vernacular lofting floor method is essential; it cannot be designed using the molding method. The bow stem features two distinct curvatures: convex in the underwater section (hull below waterline) and concave in the above-water section (topsides).
The stern has a straight post at its lower section, while the upper part follows a semi-elliptical deck line.
There is a slight sheer curve on the deck.
Unique Features
Commercial cargo vessels (karavoskara) exhibit a considerably wide middle frame in the hull's underwater section, where the tangent to the middle frame at the keel (axis intersection) is nearly horizontal. The maximum curvature of the middle frame is sharper than that of any other type and is located relatively low compared to the height of the vessel. At the deck level, the ends of the middle frame are nearly vertical.
In fishing or recreational vessels, the underwater section of the middle frame takes on a V-shape, with its tangent to the keel intersection forming an angle of approximately 30 degrees to the horizontal axis. Although the maximum curvature of the middle frame is among the sharpest compared to other types, it is less acute than that of the commercial cargo vessel. At the deck level, the ends of the middle frame are similarly vertical..
